Do I Need An EWS1?

An EWS1 form (External Wall System 1 Form) is a document that is used to assess the safety of the external wall system of a building. It is typically required for buildings that are over 18 meters tall and for buildings that have certain types of cladding.

If you are selling a property that is over 18 meters tall or that has certain types of cladding, you may need to obtain an EWS1 form. This will be required by the mortgage lender if the buyer is seeking a mortgage on the property. The EWS1 form is used to assess the risk of fire spreading in the building and to ensure that the building meets safety standards.

It’s a good idea to check with your managing agent to determine whether an EWS1 form is required for your property. You can consult with us if you are unsure if you fall into the bracket of needing an EWS1.
